Selection of applications for the #VARTO “Doing your own” veteran business financing program has started.

On March 24, the selection of applications for the veteran business financing program #VARTO “Do Your Own” begins.

Veterans, as well as relatives of fallen defenders, can receive from 500,000 to 1.5 million hryvnias for starting or developing their own business. The total budget of the competition is 15 million hryvnias.

The contest is launched by the Ukrainian Veterans Foundation of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs in partnership with the “MHP – Community” charity fund.

“We support the business opportunities of veterans and their families. That is why we are launching the macro-financing program for the third time. In 2022, the UVF will hold two macro-financing contests, and 53 winners received financing in the amounts ranging from 500,000 to one million hryvnias. We hope that this annual program will be able to support even more smaller enterprises in the food sector,” says Nataliya Kalmikova, the executive director of the Ukrainian Veterans Foundation.

The project #VARTO “Doing your own” is implemented in partnership with the “MHP – Community” charitable foundation. This foundation has been supporting micro-enterprises in the regions for several years in a row. Last year, 85 business ideas in the field of foods, processing, agro-industry and other areas received financing for 7.4 million UAH.
“Ukraine’s recovery must begin now. Not after the victory, but already today, we are teaching the community to think strategically, to plan its own development, to develop partnerships between business and donors. An integral part of this process is the integration of veterans and their families into the community economy. After all, they are highly motivated and know how to see and find non-standard solutions to overcome challenges. Therefore, the creation of a favorable ecosystem for the development of their business ideas will strengthen the economy of the community, the region and globally in all of Ukraine,” emphasizes Tetyana Volochai, director of the charitable foundation “MHP – Community”.

Applications will be accepted from March 24 to April 10, 2023. Legal entities, as well as individual entrepreneurs, can participate.
